WWE TLC 2017: 8 Things WWE Got Right

4. Replacing Bray Wyatt With AJ Styles

The mere thought of yet another Bray Wyatt vs. Finn Bálor match on pay-per-view was enough to have fans praising the option to fast-forward on the WWE Network when watching on demand. After matches at SummerSlam and No Mercy, there was no need for a third match. After all, Bálor had beaten Wyatt twice, so what was the point?

Further, the ludicrous branding for the rematch ('Demon' vs. 'Sister Abigail') felt at odds with what people wanted to see. Bálor is a fantastic worker, so he should be having matches that cater to that rather than goofy theatrics coming too little, too late in his feuds.

Enter one AJ Styles, not only a fine replacement for the ill Wyatt but a man fans respect greatly.

Seeing Bálor vs. Styles on WWE pay-per-view brought a smile to one's face. This was once an independent wrestling dream match, and here it was at a top level without the intrusion of any silly gimmicks or tacked-on drama. WWE just let these guys wrestle for close to 20 minutes and watched them tear the house down.
