WWE TLC 2018: 10 Things We Learned
3. AJ Styles Is Moving Away From The WWE Title
As sure as Seth Rollins needs a break from the IC scene, AJ Styles needs one from the top title picture on SmackDown. The guy has pretty much carried the brand on his back over the past few years, both as a heel and baby, and he has some help now in the form of a 'new' Daniel Bryan.
Your house is in safe hands, AJ. It's time to waltz off into the distance for a while and do other things.
TLC felt like it had a sense of finality to it for the Bryan vs. AJ feud. WWE may be tempted to squeeze another rematch at the Rumble (mainly to fill time, let's be honest), but it'd be much more satisfying if they let Styles work his tail off in the 30-man match and Daniel wrestle someone else.
The natural story has AJ vying to prove himself all over again by winning the Rumble and Bryan facing a placeholder challenger who's good for a one-off. His exhibition-style win over Mustafa Ali proved he's capable of working with anybody and making it interesting.
