WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (August 10)

3. Del Rio Gone

In the same week that Damien Sandow portrayed a border patrol agent telling the entire audience to go back to Mexico, along with Zeb Colter yelling at Alberto Del Rio to speak English because he€™s in America to his face on Main Event, Del Rio was let go after allegedly slapping a WWE employee over a racial remark. According to FW4Online, WWE€™s social media manager made a joke that he shouldn€™t have to clean off his plate, and that it was Del Rio€™s job. This was relayed to Del Rio who confronted him, and when the employee didn€™t apologize, and smiled instead, Del Rio slapped him. Now, we don€™t know if this is for sure what happened, or if there€™s more to the story, but if this is the truth, can you really blame Del Rio? Luckily for WWE, they have a proud history of pushing Latino wrestlers under a positive light to create a wholesome work environment. For example, there's the completely non-stereotypical Los Matadores gimmick, or Tito Santana as a matador, or The Guerrero€™s gimmick based on stealing, or the Mexicools riding lawnmowers to the ring, or Hunico and Camacho riding on a lowrider bike together while wearing wife beaters, or the announcers making fun of Vickie Guerrero€™s weight for years. How about Randy Orton joining in on the fun just this past week with his €œLatino Miss Piggy€ remark on Twitter? What is really amazing is that it took someone this long to get slapped! It's too bad that it wasn't Vince McMahon, he could probably use a few.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
