WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (August 10)

2. Why Bother?

WWE is so incredibly frustrating to watch sometimes that it€™s amazing that they have an audience that continues to support them. They continually abuse our intellect, and yet we come back for more! Why do we do it? Anyway, WWE is only capable of remembering what happened the previous week if the story they are telling is one involving a top star. They€™re also pretty hit or miss in that area most of the time as well. This week Rusev beat Big E in under two minutes on SmackDown. For starters, there was no appearance or mention of Xavier Woods or Kofi Kingston, you know the two guys he just joined up with a couple weeks ago? The company just started an angle with the three, and now it's completely forgotten. They were sick of their poor treatment, and apparently they all got over it really fast. Second of all, the announcers didn't even bother to mention that Rusev and Big E fought at two pay-per-views this summer and this was a rematch! In other depressing mid-card news let€™s turn to Main Event. For over a month, Goldust and Stardust were taken out of the ring after battling RybAxel every single week. We sat through a series of bizarre vignettes that will probably only attain the goal of damaging Cody Rhodes chances of ever becoming a star. The duo returned to the ring on Raw...to fight RybAxel fought for the 7,000th time. The brothers competed again on Main Event only to lose to Slater Gator! Even if Heath Slater is getting a mini-push these days, why would WWE just throw away all that TV time for nothing? There's just this sense in WWE that whatever you're watching won't matter the following week. It makes it hard to care about anything. WWE is unaware of this as they ran an ad on SmackDown thanking their fans. They appreciate us, you see! Well, at least our money, but not our intelligence.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
