6. The Rock 'n' Sock Connection

The Rock was a heel at the time, but by the summer both men were babyfaces after The Rock had left the Corporation. The unlikely duo won the WWF Tag Team titles on three occasions during late 1999, during feuds with the Undertaker & Big Show and the New Age Outlaws. They were hugely popular as individuals at the time, so when they formed, they were equally popular as a team. In action, they had good chemistry as a team and often performed dual-People's Elbows, but it was also promos in which they were just as, if not more, entertaining. Mankind would steal and adapt The Rock's catchphrases, such as "If you smell what The Sock is cooking?" in reference to the sock Mankind carried around, Mr. Socko. It was during this alliance that the infamous "This Is Your Life" segment took place, one of the highest rated segments in the history of Monday Night Raw. During this, Mankind brought out many people from The Rock's past, including one of his school teachers and his football coach. The team only lasted until the end of 1999, but did reform for one night at WrestleMania XX, losing in a handicap match to Randy Orton, Batista and Ric Flair of Evolution.
