WWE UK Championship: 10 Things We Want To See
4. Provide Good Coverage Of The Title
For WWE's British adventure to be successful, they need to provide good coverage of the UK Championship and the wrestlers involved with it. Without this, the belt will get lost in the independent scene and no-one will benefit from the association with the WWE. The level of coverage that should be given to British wrestling very much depends on how the WWE wants it to fit into their existing programming.
If the UK Championship is never, ever going to show up on Raw or SmackDown, then there really is no point in using up precious air-time on those shows to provide updates on the UK title. In this situation, creating and promoting a good show on the WWE Network would probably prove sufficient, allowing those interested in UK wrestling to find and enjoy it.
However, if the championship is to occasionally show up on the main roster, WWE needs to regularly acknowledge its existence during the times that it is not present on the mainstream shows. Programming on the WWE Network is not enough. As was discovered with the Cruiserweight division last year, a successful run on the WWE Network doesn't necessarily transfer over to the main roster. If viewers of Raw and SmackDown aren't regularly reminded about the UK championship and made to care about it, then just like the Cruiserweights before them, British wrestlers will show up on the main roster to the shrugging of many a casual fan's shoulders.
However, it isn't enough for WWE to talk about the UK Championship, and this leads us nicely to the next point.
