WWE has suggested that if this tournament goes well, the United Kingdom could receive its own WWE Network program. The UK Championship would become the top title of the new show; and, of course, the program would be produced in the United Kingdom. Potentially having a consistent WWE program in the area should have every British/Irish wrestling fan giddy with excitement.
Both Triple H and Finn Balor have stated that they would like the tournament to begin a new path for British and Irish talent to make their way into the WWE. As the company continues to recruit talent from a wider spectrum, it’s a smart move to target the United Kingdom specifically. The UK has always been a hot bed for professional wrestling and it’s refreshing to see the WWE make a concentrated effort to engage that audience.
Once a UK central WWE Network program is officially announced, it kick-start a new wave of similar tournaments all around the world.
