WWE: The Ultimate Warrior's 6 Biggest Controversies
2. The WARRIOR Comic Book
In 1996, the Ultimate Warrior set to work at cashing in on the popularity of comic books by creating one bearing his own image, presumably believing himself to be a super hero on a par with the likes of Batman or Spiderman. At the beginning it sold well, presumably to hardcore Warrior fans who wanted to see the first issue. It wasn't long before sales took a nosedive however and it was cancelled. Problem was that Warrior and his crew seemingly didn't understand what made for a good comic. Like Warrior himself, there was way too much dialogue and not enough action and they were just as confusing as a promo from the man himself. Most notable was the decision to release a "Warrior," Christmas special that was a particularly bad entry in the series that seemed to exist more as a collection of cool Warrior drawings than having any kind of interesting story. For a start, the text and background were at odds with each other making the main few pages a struggle to read. The rest of the book was a confusing collection of drawings of a particularly stacked Warrior dressed as Santa, choking out the Grinch and saving orphans from being robbed. The Christmas special was the last issue of "Warrior," released with even the few fans it had gained realizing that it was really just a vehicle for Warrior to exaggerate his physique and peddle his philosophy.
