WWE: The Ultimate Warrior's 6 Biggest Controversies

1. The Fallout From "The Self Destruction Of The Ultimate Warrior"

Screen Shot 2014 01 19 At 17 17 05 In September 2005, the WWE released a DVD on the Ultimate Warrior with no input from the man himself. Known as "The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior," the DVD turned out to be a particularly one-sided skewering of the Warrior's career. It followed the Warrior's career, with all new interviews that seemed to take pleasure from mocking the subject. There were plenty of unflattering stories told, some of which Warrior has publicly disputed, claiming extreme bias from the WWE camp. The story goes that Warrior was offered input into the DVDs production but turned it down resulting in the questionable direction the company took with it. Warrior could not have handled the situation any worse. Perhaps knowing that that they had gotten to him, WWE offered Warrior a chance to defend himself on an episode of Byte This! Not wanting to respond on their terms, Warrior refused and instead released a statement that caused yet more controversy. In it, he took aim at the host of Byte This calling Todd Grisham a "queer" and angered many within the industry by calling Droz a "cripple." JBL in particular took umbrage to Warrior's statements and called him a "piece of s**t" all based on the comments made towards Droz. In the next episode of Byte This, WWE featured an insulting impression of the Warrior featuring numerous references to steroid abuse and other jokes at his expense. Not long after, Warrior took out a lawsuit against the WWE for the way they portrayed his career in the DVD. Now that both sides have somewhat kissed and made up, a new Warrior DVD is slated for release in 2014 which will hopefully be a truer representation of the mans career. One things for sure, with Warrior involved you can count on it being entertaining in one way or another.
