WWE: The Ultimate WrestleMania Ranking - From Worst To Best

29. Wrestlemania IX- Overall Score: 1.5/5

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCz4Y8oTBJc OMQ: 1 CROWD: 1 STAR POWER: 2 HR: 1 FEUDS: 1 PROD. VALUE: 3 Wrestlemania IX is generally regarded as the worst Wrestlemania and you're not going to get any argument from me. From top-to-bottom a poorly booked show of awful matches that nobody gave a toss about. Even Hulk Hogan could no longer make a difference at this point. The one solace of this event is it's look. The first 'Mania to be held outdoors and in daylight, the event had a unique, previously unseen gloss to it and whilst having Jim Ross come out in a toga and Bobby Heenan enter on the back of camel might have been pushing it, it was the only decent factor to the worst Wrestlemania ever. Oh and that finish with Hogan winning the title... nope.

28. Wrestlemania IV- Overall Score: 1.6/5

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaMzrwqMie0 OMQ: 1 CROWD: 2 STAR POWER: 3 HR: 2 FEUDS: 1 PROD. VALUE: 1 On paper, I'm sure holding a one-night tournament to crown a new WWF Champion after the famous two Hebners finish between Hogan and Andre seemed like a swell idea. In practice, it was a disaster. 16 matches occurred during this 4-hour show, the VAST majority of them awful. Whilst Randy Savage's first World Title win might leave some fans feeling nostalgically positive in the present day, at the time it did awful business. It's been recognised that WWE fans, generally, like to know in advance what exactly they're paying for, in terms of matches. When they don't, like here or Cyber Sunday, they can become ambivalent. At only 175,000 buys, this event received the lowest buy-rate in Wrestlemania history. They didn't miss much. This event just never got off the ground.

27. Wrestlemania XI- Overall Score: 1.6/5

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIgyfkM276A OMQ: 2 CROWD: 2 STAR POWER: 2 HR: 2 FEUDS: 1 PROD. VALUE: 1 The mid-90s WWE was plagued with a series of uninspiring story-lines with uninspiring characters amidst the company's most bland and desperate times. This led to a selection of equally bland Wrestlemanias. You could tell Vince knew this event was in jeopardy off a lack of attractions when he centred the build-up to the show around the involvement of celebrities Pamela Anderson, Jenny McCarthy and Lawrence Taylor, whom would actually main event the show and, to his credit, bring a decent amount of mainstream exposure along with him. No disrespect meant to any of those individuals but, as it was once said, however, you can't polish a turd. Even Bret Hart had a stinker of a match at this one. Without question, the most forgettable Wrestlemania ever.

26. Wrestlemania 2- Overall Score: 1.83/5

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlTEUimyLSY OMQ: 1 CROWD: 3 STAR POWER: 3 HR: 2 FEUDS: 1 PROD. VALUE: 1 I suppose you might say that the second edition of the grandest event in pro-wrestling was like one massive botch. Held on a Monday night, rather than Sunday and across 3 different cities (New York, Chicago and Los Angeles), this event was diseased with a tonne of technical errors and dreadful celebrity guest commentary. Combine that with daft gimmick matches like Mr. T vs Roddy Piper in a boxing match and an insipid battle royale with a bunch of football players and what you have is a mess of an event that just didn't work. Thankfully, they learned from their mistakes. Seriously, a boxing match!? At WRESTLEmania!? C'mon now Vincent.

Betting on being a brilliant brother to Bodhi since 2008 (-1 Asian Handicap). Find me @LiamJJohnson on Twitter where you might find some wonderful pearls of wisdom in a stout cocktail of profanity, football discussion and general musings. Or you might not. Depends how red my eyes are.
