25. Wrestlemania XXVII- Overall Score: 2/5
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdA7PlNHXd0 OMQ: 2 CROWD: 2 STAR POWER: 3 HR: 1 FEUDS: 1 PROD VALUE: 3 WWE stock might be at a 15-year high, they might indeed be upon the back of the (relatively) successful launch of their brand spanking new network and they might well have managed to set a trilogy of Wrestlemanias- beginning here- around the feud of The Rock vs John Cena to an absolute ship load of money, all in proof that Vince McMahon and his idiotic daughter and doofus son-in-law actually know what they're doing. However, there will always stand testament the fact that one of them, at some time, under some kind of narcotic influence, decided it would be an "attraction" to promote a top feud for your biggest show around two mediocre commentators that ultimately led to Michael Cole in a bright, orange singlet on our screens. Oh and the main event ended in a double-count out. Jim Ross's commentary immediately said it sucked. He wasn't wrong. Wrestlemania 27 was crap (sans 'Taker vs Trips). 24. Wrestlemania V- Overall Score: 2.16/5
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2RJRTJFjBE OMQ: 2 CROWD: 1 STAR POWER: 4 HR: 2 FEUDS: 3 PROD. VALUE: 1 THE MEGA POWERS EXPLODE! Actually, they didn't. Whilst possibly an attraction of a psychotic sense, seeing Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage literally explode would probably promote the wrong message about your product. It might, however, have woken the crowd up, whom seemed to be fitted with drips of ether for this event. Perhaps the dullest, quietest 'Mania ever. I dunno how much Donald Trump paid Vince to get Wrestlemania at his namesake venue in New Jersey for two years running but whatever it was, it wasn't enough! Other than that, it was another one of these early 4-hour Wrestlemanias that would've been twice as good if they'd shaved an hour and 5-6 atrocious matches off of the undercard. Not all of them were bad, though. A lad named Shawn Michaels made his 'Mania bow at the top of the show. He would go on to do quite well in subsequent 'Mania events. 23. Wrestlemania 2000- Overall Score: 2.16/5
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8OQ-Ygsy0k OMQ: 3 CROWD: 3 STAR POWER: 2 HR: 2 FEUDS: 1 PROD. VALUE: 2 'Mania 2000 should have been, by all rights, the greatest Wrestlemania of all time. When you consider WWE coming off the back of its hottest year ever in '99 and the massive influx of talent that they had just acquired: Jericho, Angle, Benoit, Guerrero; even the likes of Lita and Trish Stratus and then the tag teams of Edge & Christian, The Hardys & The Dudleys... and this was just the undercard! The Rock was as hot as he'd ever be, Trips and Foley had just torn the house down with a tremendous feud, the McMahon-Helmsely angle was in full-effect. This event should have torn the house down. Instead, it suffered from three primary factors: the injuries (and thus absence) of Stone Cold Steve Austin & The Undertaker, hosting the event at the Arrowhead Pond- they could've sold 60-70,000 easy- and a cluster-f*** of Vince Russo-esque booking, throwing tonnes of guys left and right into bizarre matches, leading to one of the most chaotic Wrestlemanias of all time. Anyone remember Al Snow and Steve Blackman as "Head-Cheese" or the logical, renowned tag-team of Kane and Rikishi? Sometimes, lesser is indeed more, WWE. 22. Wrestlemania XII- Overall Score: 2.16/5
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LngJg_ZjVaA OMQ: 3 CROWD: 1 STAR POWER: 1 HR: 3 FEUDS: 3 PROD. VALUE: 2 The debuts of Steve Austin and Triple H aside, this was quite possibly the 'Mania most lacking in star attraction in WWE history. Scott Hall & Kevin Nash were both on their way out of the company, following the likes of Hogan, Luger, Savage and others on to "greener pastures", leaving Vince scrambling for a way to populate a 3-hour 'Mania with a depleted roster. In retrospect, placing his two most prominent and promising stars into a 1-hour Ironman match was about the best he could do. The undercard thoroughly forgettable, this was a 1 match show and whilst debate can be made about the quality of the match itself, it did produce two of the most replayed moments in 'Mania history: Michaels' entrance and his title victory. It's funny watching how pissed-off Austin appeared doing his abysmal Ringmaster gimmick here.
