WWE: Why Kane & Daniel Bryan's 'Team Hell No' Should Split Up

Team Hell No concluded their anger management course last Monday night on WWE Raw in what was arguably the most hilarious in-ring wrestling segment of 2013. However, as the San Jose, California crowd showed their appreciation for Kane and Daniel Bryan, others were left hoping that Team Hell No€™s graduation would also mark the end of their wildly successful run as Tag Team Champions. While stripping two of the WWE€™s most popular performers of their belts may seem controversial, it would undoubtedly improve the health of the division in the long term. As Monday€™s segment suggests, Kane and Bryan have never been more popular at WWE live events. Nevertheless, many fans still feel the comedy duo has run its course. The €œYes! Yes! Yes!€ and €œNo! No! No!€ chants are starting to become repetitive and their best material (e.g. Kane€™s Pete Rose speech) is behind them. Also, as we have seen countless times in professional wrestling, just because something pops in a big arena doesn€™t mean it is necessarily €œgood for business€. I believe it would be better for Team Hell No €“ and the WWE generally €“ not to spoil the chemistry between Kane and Bryan though overexposure. If they were to ditch the gimmick today, Team Hell No could almost certainly guarantee themselves another run in the future, either before or after Kane€™s retirement from regular in-ring competition. Speaking of which, the 45 year-old Kane (Glenn Jacobs) is starting to reach the end of his storied career in professional wrestling, and it would be a shame for him to finish with the WWE as part of a stale comedy tag-team. Equally, Bryan would benefit from the break-up. While pairing with Kane has done wonders for his character development and standing in WWE, it is also preventing him from becoming the headliner that we€™ve seen in indy promotions like Ring of Honor. Frankly, Bryan should be a contender for the WWE or World Heavyweight Championships and his talents are wasted in the mid-card. For many wrestling fans, something about Monday€™s segment felt, well, final. I can only hope that this is the last we see of Team Hell No on WWE programming for a long time. For the benefit of Kane, Bryan and the WWE Universe, it€™s time to drop the belts to Team Rhodes Scholars and move on.
