WWE Wrestlemania 29: Preview & Predictions

CM Punk Vs The Undertaker - The Streak Wrestlemania 29 The Undertaker CM Punk has been downplaying the importance of his match with The Undertaker in interviews recently claiming 'Taker is not one of his dream opponents for the PPV. Whether or not this is part of his heel persona isn't clear but for many fans seeing Punk and Undertaker go at it on the biggest wrestling PPV of the year is a dream come true. I can see Punk's point that he'd like to fight John Cena because those two are our generations Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage and have had some truly awesome matches but in fairness we've seen it so many times that it's time for Punk do something fresh. Maybe he can kick Cena's ass next year instead? There's no secret both these men aren't at 100% health heading in to 'Mania but if you think for a moment either will allow this to affect their Wrestlemania moment you are very much mistaken. Undertaker has had a run of classic matches in recent years and if Punk really is The Best in the World as he so claims then Undertaker will be sure to help him live up to that moniker. The build up to this match has been fare from either man's best but it's been interesting. Throw long time Undertaker antagonist Paul Heyman into the mix and you're guaranteed magic by hook or by crook this Sunday in New Jersey. Prediction: There's been lots of talk about Punk being the one to end The Streak but I can't see that ever happening. In my opinion Punk is going down. He's taking a little time off after the PPV to get over nagging injuries so it makes sense to have him lose and then reset his career when he comes back in the next few weeks. Sure, 'Taker has nothing to prove but damn it he's earned the right to retire from 'Mania undefeated and with the way his body's going that might be sooner rather than later. Fallout: Undertaker is scheduled for the UK tour but there's every chance he wont make it onto television and rather be a dark match treat for the fans in attendance. Let's assume that's the case and have both men disappear from TV for however long they need with Punk returning refreshed and with his eyes set on reclaiming his title by the next PPV. If 'Taker can still go then we'll see him this time next year I guess. Alternative Match: I love both these guys but if Punk wasn't challenging The Streak who else is there? How about a night off for The Dead Man? Any other ideal opponent is booked in a match.
