WWE WrestleMania 30: 11 Booking Decisions They Must Get Right

8. Elevate Bray Wyatt

WWE don't necessarily need to give Bray Wyatt the win over John Cena on Sunday, but they absolutely need to elevate him in one way or another. The way it could play out is if we get a situation like WrestleMania 13 with Hart and Austin. The entrenched star goes over, but the plucky up-and-comer ends up stealing the show. The valiant loss for Austin in 97 did way more for his career than a win could have done. That image of him passing out in the sharpshooter with a bloody face is timelessly iconic. Wyatt should be booked in the same way. He's obviously going to end up cheered, so WWE should embrace it for the evening, have Wyatt lose in a valiant way that says how hot of a future he has. It could even play out the same way as Austin did, have Cena put Bray in the STF, but he never taps, instead the ref rings the bell after a minute of no movement. The implication could be Bray passed out, but as John rolls away as a victor, Bray should stir and imply he never did pass out. Bray Wyatt must leave WrestleMania a step closer to being a headliner rather than see his character squashed.
