WWE WrestleMania 30: 6 Potential "Mania Moments" That Could Happen

4. The Deadman Refuses To Die - Undertaker Submits Brock Lesnar

This match has been met with a very mixed reaction. Casual fans are excited at the prospect of these two behemoths locking horns, which despite what Jerry Lawler would have you think, has happened before, albeit more than a decade ago. The hardcore WWE follower sees little interest in this match due to it being a guaranteed lock that Undertaker will emerge victorious. And that is essentially the problem with every Undertaker match at WrestleMania. There's no drama. The matches with HBK and HHH, while fantastic, had very little in the way of actual suspense. The bout with CM Punk was a little more questionable, but even Punk himself downplayed the honor of wrestling Taker because there was no doubt over the outcome. So when the result is no longer in question the only way to build interest in the match is to create a spectacle. And with Brock Lesnar, there's no better spectacle than that of violence. Having Paul Heyman cut promos implying that Lesnar may shoot on Undertaker to break the streak could serve to build the story somewhat, but ultimately this match suffers from one of the most predictable endings to a main event in recent memory. There's no chance WWE has a performer on a limited short term contract who has shown general disinterest in wrestling end the streak. Therefore the best possible booking for this match would consist of plenty of brutality and destruction. Tell the story of Undertaker, in the twilight of his career, fighting to survive the onslaught of the beast incarnate. Lesnar needs to come off like an unhinged animal. This would be a perfect opportunity for WWE to overlook their no blood policy to sell the savagery of the match. To create the most satisfying conclusion Undertaker needs to submit Brock with the Hell's Gate. That would be the best possible form of victory for Undertaker and his fans, to see the former UFC Heavyweight Champion beaten at his own game.
