At WrestleMania 31, Daniel Bryan became the new WWE Intercontinental Champion following an exciting opening Ladder Match on the main card. When it was announced that management planned to repeat that process - albeit with some different wrestlers - this year, some felt that it could never hope to top what had happened 12 months before.

That guess turned out to be false, there was much more of a natural vibe to the Intercontinental Title Ladder Match this time around. More guys involved were given the opportunity to shine, too.

Sami Zayn in particular looked awesome as he seamlessly went from diving through a ladder onto opponents, to swiftly sprinting around the ring to hurl himself through the ropes at Kevin Owens, dropping him with a sickening DDT on the floor.

Everyone involved had some kind of moment they could point to as exciting, which can't be said about the match from 'Mania 31. Overall, the 'Mania 32 opener was a lot better than its predecessor, and that's saying something considering that one was hardly rotten.
