WWE WrestleMania 32: 10 Things We Learned

2. John Cena Lied About Not Being At 'Mania

At an extra special press conference designed to promote WrestleMania 33, John Cena expressly stated that he would not be part of the 'Mania 32 card at all. The guy didn't outright say that he wouldn't be in Texas, or even backstage, he simply stated that injury had made it impossible for an in-ring appearance.

That turned out to be entirely fabricated, because Cena did indeed show face on the main pay-per-view. Brought out to aid an outnumbered Rock, the poster boy of WWE helped his former 'Mania foe fight off The Wyatt Family. In the process, Bray Wyatt and clan were made to look like glorified jobbers.

The real story is Cena's appearance, because it's likely to be a fleeting one. Some reports have even suggested that John won't be able to wrestle regularly until July. If that's true, considering The Rock won't be around much post-WrestleMania puts quite the dampener on the segment.

Bray Wyatt has - one again - been undermined by WWE's creative team. It's hardly motivating for the man to repeatedly get booked to look like a mouthy clown, but that's what's happening.
