WWE WrestleMania 33: 10 Potential Main Events

2. John Cena Vs. A.J. Styles

This seems like a safe match, but safe isn’t always a bad thing. If WWE is unable to land a big celebrity name, they’ll just have to go with what they have and possibly deliver John Cena vs. A.J. Styles.

Even though Cena is still the biggest full-time act that WWE has, he hasn’t main-evented Mania since 29. He’s probably due for another show closing match if the company can find him the right opponent. Styles and Cena would likely be able to end the show on a hot note, which was badly lacking from last year’s event. They work together well, and have already put on a pair of great matches. They could go another round with an added stipulation to add some extra intrigue.

What could make this feud more exciting is if they book the Mania match to be the night where Cena breaks Ric Flair’s record for most world title runs. It would certainly help deliver the WrestleMania moment that Vince McMahon is always looking for. And if Cena does win the title at the show, you really can't have something go on after that, as it would be too historic of a moment.

This may not be the most exciting option for hardcore fans out there (which is bizarre to say since it's Styles vs. Cena, which was unfathomable a year ago), but there really is quite a bit to like about it from a business perspective .

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
