As Finn Bálor made his entrance to the ring, decked in an LGBT-inspired colour palette directly after a match hastily renamed from a problematic figure, it felt like we were watching WokeMania. This is a company, however, that cannot help itself - or more accurately, is ran by a man who cannot help himself. What follows isn't necessarily, and imagine having to defend couching criticism of harmful stereotypes, "SJW whining". This is a company that markets itself as progressive in 2018 and, on its biggest platform, trotted out little people as a sight gag during the New Day's entrance.

Some even performed the worm, as if the visual of little people performing comedy dance routines is amusing in and of itself in 2018. A misjudged entrance prior to a short and forgettable Triple Threat Match, it was also fairly bizarre - though no less predictable - that WWE would both end the reign of the Usos and marginalise their big, belated 'Mania moment in what amounted to a nothing match presented immediately after the hottest, longest and most heavily-hyped attraction on the card.
