For one heart-breaking moment, it looked like WWE might pull a fast one and write Daniel Bryan out of his heavily-hyped tag match.

After taking a Powerbomb onto the ring apron, Bryan was surrounded by medics, referees and his partner Shane McMahon. Meanwhile, the announcers wondered aloud whether or not Daniel would be able to recover and help McMahon fend off the Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn menace.

Although it sucked at the time to think Bryan may be pulled from the match, it worked out well in the end and gave the bout a different flavour to the earlier tag involving Raw's power players and Ronda Rousey. WWE succeeded in pulling the wool right over everyone's eyes, for a second at least.

When Bryan roared back to win the match for his side, it felt more impactful because of the tease that he might be stretchered to the back before even performing some moves. That worry was soothed by the fact WWE came through for Daniel when it mattered most.
