Man, it's ridiculously tough to type this, it really is, but Kofi Kingston shouldn't be WWE Champion right now. It has nothing to do with him personally, or the "B+ player" storyline that's been running on SmackDown, and instead has everything to do with how sh*tting great Daniel Bryan is in his role.

The final few moments of the latest SmackDown swayed things here. Bryan cut a promo with passion most could only dream of, and he's blossomed into one of WWE's best heels, something that wasn't a given after being idolised for so many years. Kingston, as painful as it is to say, isn't someone WWE should knee-jerk on.

Sure, this is a decade in the making, most will cry. There's some extra juice to squeeze out of his plight that means more than a quick win at 'Mania.

Kingston could easily continue challenging Bryan afterwards if WWE play it right. Maybe they could have a member of The New Day accidentally cost their buddy, or maybe the air could be sucked out of the stadium as Kofi taps out to Bryan's No Lock.
