WWE WrestleMania 35: 12 Live Observations From A Casual Fan
2. ...But You Can't NOT Acknowledge Daniel Bryan's Role
The best heel work of the night wasn't the yellow spotlights or Drew McIntyre (obviously). It wasn't the IIconics stealing their win or Braun Strowman smashing a healthcare professional to bits or John Cena spitting fire. It was Daniel Bryan.
Considering he's only a year or so out from his hero's return from enforced retirement, to see the crowd cheering YES YES YES as he repeatedly took elbows to the head (you know, the actual place where his concussions live) was testament to how incredible he was as a heel.
It's weird, he even LOOKS different when he's a heel. More sinewy, more pointed. And when he was simply dialling up his skill as if to say "ok, I'm just going to be better now and beat you", it played perfectly into the emotion of Kofi's victory.
