WWE WrestleMania 35: 12 Live Observations From A Casual Fan
6. Roman Reigns Is A Marketing Problem
WWE's infatuation with Roman Reigns - or presumably Vince McMahon's - makes no sense without the context of him being a McMahon man.
When you come into a PPV fairly cold on the specifics of his story booking (up to the point of his illness, obviously), the decision to push someone so aggressively on a crowd who booed him into the ring and then went deathly silent for long periods of his match is baffling.
It's particularly odd to also then see Drew McIntyre acting like a typical heel and playing up to the crowd (despite bagpipes having absolutely no relevance to heels really) as if anyone cared that Roman was the hero being disrespected. To think that Reigns is still the top man and his incredible return from illness cannot get him over must be pretty devastating to WWE's marketing department.
