There has been plenty of chatter recently about how NXT isn't a developmental territory, a fact that has been plainly apparent for well over half a decade at this point. How could a brand with Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe and Finn Balor on top be anything close to developmental? It boggled the mind in 2015 and it boggles the mind today. NXT hasn't been developmental for a long time.

Still, WWE seems reticent to bring the NXT Championship into the mainstream. This needs to change. Finn Balor vs. Karrion Kross is the biggest match on NXT's plate at the moment, and letting the two have an absolute banger at WrestleMania 37 would do wonders for the yellow brand. Kross never lost the title and Balor has barely held onto it since. KK's story must come full circle soon, and 'Mania is the perfect platform.

It is unlikely that WWE will book an NXT Championship match for WrestleMania 37, and the misery caused by the NXT Women's Championship match at 'Mania 36 might make that a good thing. Still, the match between Balor and Kross deserves a major stage, and it doesn't much bigger than the Showcase of the Immortals.
