WWE has plenty of previous when it comes to making catastrophic booking decisions, but not a great record when it comes to righting its own wrongs. Is that down to stubbornness? A refusal to turn back time when turning back time is the right thing to do? I dare say we'll never know.

WWE did dirty by Rhea Ripley in 2020. At the beginning of the year she was a megastar in waiting, an NXT Women's Champion with crossover potential in spades and credibility oozing out of every pore. The young Australian was the most exciting prospect the company had on its hands in years.

Then, Charlotte Flair happened.

Charlotte defeating Rhea at WrestleMania 36 remains one of the most perplexing booking decisions of recent times, especially when Charlotte subsequently dropped the title to Io Shirai in underwhelming circumstances. Whether it is for the NXT or SmackDown Women's Championship, Rhea Ripley defeating Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 37 should be at the very top of the booking list.

Alas, it isn't happening. Rhea Ripley is now just another woman on the roster, and WWE's desperate attempt to make Charlotte the biggest thing in wrestling will likely result in another big title win at WrestleMania.
