WWE WrestleMania 37: 10 Awesome Matches That Should Happen (And Why They Won't)
3. Sasha Banks Vs. Bianca Belair
How in the blue hell is Bianca Belair not the biggest star in the SmackDown women's division right now? I can only surmise that WWE is holding off her coronation for WrestleMania 37, where the EST of SmackDown will dethrone Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women's Championship in a match for the ages. Belair wins, Sasha shakes her hand, establishing Belar in the eyes of the world. Sometimes, two plus two really does equal four.
Many of WWE's creative problems stem from a reluctance to make new stars. Well, that or an inability to do so, but the end result remains the same. It has had no shortage of potential, and every year the promotion seems to stumble upon someone who could change the game if given the faith to do so, only for that potential to shrink in the face of a shadow called Charlotte Flair. In 2016, it was Sasha Banks. Last year, it was Rhea Ripley. Charlotte might not stand in the way of Bianca Belar, but that same glass ceiling remains in place.
Bianca Belair has all the potential in the world, and the majority of 2021 should see her feuding with Sonya Deville over the SmackDown Women's Championship, two new stars blazing a new trail for women's wrestlers all over the world. Don't hold your breath, unfortunately.
