WWE WrestleMania 38: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

6. Fans Reject Edge’s Heel Turn

If anyone can pull off this post-retirement heel run, it's Edge.

There are only two major worries hanging over it. One, the sympathetic comeback story Edge has worked since 2020 was so strong that his heel turn caught peeps cold. Two, AJ Styles is hardly an outright babyface himself these days. In fact, ol' AJ hasn't been a face for the longest time.

It's really hard not to root for Edge after everything he's been through. WWE might've done a better job of prepping Styles for this role than they have, because there's a decent chance he hears some boos in Texas next month. That's a bit of a sh*temare for the company - they want Edge to get those jeers instead.

Again though, it's all so sudden. Edge has gone from beloved returnee to dark, twisted and cold. Sure, he showed splashes of that during his run towards 'Mania 37 last year, but this feels different. WWE will be praying that fans in Dallas play ball here.
