The time has come for someone else to carry WWE's product.

Roman has more than done his bit, and this Cody Rhodes story is far too precious to scupper. Watching him stare skyward and say something like, "I did it, dad" after winning the twin WWE/Universal Titles at 'Mania 39 would be a moment in time that'd live forever.

Originally, people had The Rock earmarked to end Roman's dominance. They could still meet on pay-per-view in the future, but Cody has roared into view as the best man for the job of tearing Reigns' championship empire apart. He's even survived the threat of beloved babyface Sami Zayn scooping up his glory, and did so unscathed.

Rhodes deserves to become Undisputed WWE Universal Champ, then roll out on Raw wearing a brand new version of the WWE belt that's been rumoured. This is his destiny, and his promise to Dusty. Sometimes, the outcome everyone can see coming is the right way to go.
