For the first time in more than 30 years, WWE WrestleMania will head to Las Vegas next year.

The company announced Saturday that WrestleMania 41 will take place at Allegiant Stadium on April 19-20, 2025, ending weeks of speculation that only grew in intensity when they didn't reveal a location during WrestleMania 40 weekend, which had become customary in recent years.

The news came via a video package that aired during NBC's Kentucky Derby coverage, after WWE's Backlash France PLE had concluded.

This will mark the first time WrestleMania has emanated from Vegas since WrestleMania IX, which took place at Caesar's Palace.

WrestleMania 41 also will be the latest in a calendar year that a WrestleMania ever has taken place. Nearly all of the previous shows have happened in the last week of March or first week in April, with the latest being WrestleMania 37 in 2021 on April 10-11. WWE officials have recently said they wanted to avoid holding the major PLE the same weekend as the NCAA basketball Final Four, which occurs in early April.

The decision to hold Mania in Vegas has to be a blow for Minneapolis, which had been in the running for the 2025 edition of WWE's signature event. The Star Tribune reported Saturday that the city had been a finalist to host WrestleMania 41 but lost out due to "a change in direction by new ownership," according to Minnesota Sports and Events President and CEO Wendy Blackshaw.
