WWE WrestleMania 42: 20 Things That NEED To Happen

18. Demolition Demand A Tag Title Match

No, not for themselves. Take it easy! Ax and Smash aren’t stepping foot inside the ring for action in 2026. It'd be them who got smashed into smithereens if they did. These old warhorses are there to collect on a long overdue WWE Hall Of Fame induction, but wouldn't it be a laugh if Demolition got to make a match at WrestleMania?!

The cherished tag-team legends of yesteryear should grab a microphone each, put over Damian Priest and R-Truth (who thinks they’re The Road Warriors for some extra added comedy), then announce an impromptu title bout so ‘Mania Sunday has 7 matches to go next to Saturday’s number.

Lord knows who it’d be against, but a rub from the Demos at 'Mania would be nifty for Priest and Truth if nothing else. Hell, give the title shot to Angel and Berto for pulling their weight in an often-overlooked SmackDown doubles division right before the writers wrecked it by focusing on a tedious Wyatt Sicks vs. MFTs rivalry. Berto also did a sterling job of putting newcomer Royce Keys over on a recent episode of blue brand telly.

Yes, yes this is a thinly veiled way to get the Ax and the Smasher involved so they're doing more than just standing on the stage smiling or waving. It's heartwarming they're getting to do that, but hearing Ax encourage Priest and Truth to "demolish and destroy" in his familiar gravelly tones would be amazing.

Then, the modern day babyface duo could use the wreckage of Los Garza to forge their tag titles. Haaaaaaa! Sorry, WrestleMania VI throwback.
