WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True
9. “Extra Added Value”
Six matches are on tap for WrestleMania Backlash, which is...enough. A quick glance at what's been happening on WWE TV shows that other bouts like Kevin Owens vs. Ezekiel, Bianca Belair vs. WWE's flavour of the month challenger, Veer Mahaan vs. Jobber #3,286 and Theory vs. Mustafa Ali could be added.
Please don't, WWE.
The card doesn't need any of these matches, to be honest. It'd be a nightmare if the company decided to beef out Backlash as much as possible by cramming 8-10 matches onto the show - the world isn't yearning for a pay-per-view rife with matches better-suited to episodes of Raw and SmackDown.
Clashes like Madcap Moss vs. Happy Corbin and Bobby Lashley vs. Omos are low-rent enough for a "premium" card without sprinkling yet more midcard fairy dust onto proceedings. Spots on pay-per-views (even 'B' level ones) should be coveted and only handed out to matches with some solid build behind them.
