WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022: 10 Things That Must Happen

1. WWE Keep It Short

There's absolutely no need for this to be some long-winded pay-per-view. WWE are coming off back-to-back marathons at WrestleMania 38, and they need to start realising that show length doesn't instantly = value for money. In fact, sometimes events are better when they're on the shorter side.

Adding in a throwaway Raw Women's Title defence for Bianca Belair, for example, would be a mistake and unnecessary. The same goes for thinking that anybody needs to see Kevin Owens vs. Ezekiel on pay-per-view (Happy Corbin vs. Madcap Moss is low-key enough), or a random Intercontinental Title match.

The company don't really care about Backlash anyway. They're already looking past it to Hell In A Cell, so keeping the match count at six (perhaps with the aforementioned Kickoff bout) sounds fine. That way, the agents and wrestlers have time to craft something special.

Leaving people wanting more is better than exhausting them, especially if that's with matches no-one craves.
