WWE WrestleMania: Every Women's Championship Match Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair - NXT Women's Championship (WrestleMania 36)

Opening night two of WrestleMania 36 was the kind of spot that Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley's NXT Women's Championship match benefitted from.

The pair had already told a brilliant story befitting of the WrestleMania spot, albeit without a live audience to soak in their sheer excellence. Ripley getting in a Riptide early on in the match was a huge shock, and one that only furthered the match's aura; from there, though, it was a calculated attack of Ripley's knee from 'The Queen'.

Now, yes, the age-old trope of one wrestler targeting another's limb is as basic as wrestling gets, but this was actually done perfectly. Charlotte knew precisely what she needed to do in order to tear apart 'The Nightmare's' lower half, whereas Rhea only swung back at her challenger when she had the opportunity to do so. It didn't make sense for her to be fighting fit against Flair, and so she didn't.

Of course, the less said about the outcome the better, as Charlotte should not have been ending Ripley's title run, but even still, it was a phenomenal match. That they still managed to pull this off in an empty Performance Center earns them all the more credit.
