WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025: 8 Nightmares That Could Come True
7. Triple H Books A Senseless Rusev Job
5 matches appears to be a sweet spot for most 'B' level WWE PLEs. Hunter likes to give his roster plenty of time to work with, and he isn't one for chucking extras onto the card just to fill time. No, those already in featured bouts on the show get that time (and so do a wealth of WWE Shop ads - just saying!). Generally, bouts aren't tossed into the mix willy nilly.
That's why it'd be lame if Rusev challenging Dominik Mysterio was some half-baked add on this Saturday. The Bulgarian approached Mysterio on Raw and said he’s the future Intercontinental Champion, after all. However, it’d be best to let them build towards that match and have ‘Dirty Dom’ quake in his boots at the thought. Putting them on the Wrestlepalooza card would be a mistake, because they’d get lost in the shuffle.
Also, neither outcome seems particularly alluring if they’re going in fairly cold. Dominik beating Rusev in a random match doesn’t sound right, and Rusev ending Dom’s IC fun stomps all over that side of things too. Having a bit more build to figure out the right way to go about things would be best for everyone involved here, including the fans.
Rusev looked like the man when he toppled Sheamus in that feisty brawl at Clash In Paris, so he'd lose too much momentum by staring at the lights for Dominik come 'Palooza. That'd be true even if Finn Bálor went back on his word and helped Mysterio out alongside other Judgment Day troops.
Keep this one on the back burner, please.
