With the Undertaker seemingly retired there is not a person on the current roster who has had a longer in ring WWE career then HHH. Crucially he is among a handful who has risen from the bottom instead of being thrown into the main event scene within a couple of years. Starting his career out in the independent company IWF, HHH is one of a dying breed who has come from the likes of a territory or the independents and successfully made the transition to the WWE. For most of his stay in WCW he was considered enhancement talent; just an opening card act used to make those above him look good. Upon arriving to the WWE he started out as a relatively low key midcard talent. He eventually won the Intercontinental Championship and saw his stock rise of the back of some impressive work against the likes of a young Rock and Mankind. Once he aligned himself with Shawn Michaels as part of DX he truly became a featured performer in the company. From that point he went on to be a headline act in the infamous Attitude Era (even before his marriage to Stephanie McMahon). Since that day he has been among the most successful superstars in company history. Of all of the people under the WWE banner there probably isnt one with as much knowledge of what it takes to succeed as a performer at every level of the company.
