WWE's 10 Biggest Falls From Grace In 2018

4. Braun Strowman

On paper, Braun Strowman has had a pretty damn good year. He set elimination records in both the Elimination Chamber (where he eliminated 5 people) and the Royal Rumble match (where he eliminated 13 people). He also captured the Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania with a 10-year-old as his partner, won a Royal Rumble match (albeit, the Greatest Royal Rumble, which turned out to be pointless), won the Money in the Bank briefcase, and is the current number-one contender to Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship.

But, there's a problem: his booking.

He lost his first Universal Championship opportunity at the Royal Rumble (though it was Kane that got pinned and not him), he lost that very-same Elimination Chamber match that saw him eliminate everybody except the eventual-winner Roman Reigns, his Money in the Bank contract was squandered after interference from Brock Lesnar, and he lost his 1-on-1 Championship match with Lesnar at Crown Jewel. But the worst part of all of this was his failed heel turn at the end of the summer.

His alignment with Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre was yet another attempt by WWE to garner sympathy for Roman Reigns, and to nobody's surprise, it failed. Strowman was one of WWE's hottest organically-produced babyfaces at that point, and it's possible that his brief run as a heel may have damaged his reputation with the WWE Universe.

Thankfully, he does have a rematch against Lesnar at the Royal Rumble, so hopefully he'll finally win the big one.
