What Happened: Braun Strowman, to the surprise of nobody, claims yet another bright green prize, virtually guaranteeing he'd become a Universal Champion within the next year. Unless he managed to somehow bungle his hit.

Other than a surprise for surprise's sake, it didn't seem likely that any of Braun's challengers would beat him up the ladder. When the New Day's secret entrant was revealed as Kofi Kingston rather than Big E, we knew for certain. Braun's victory, though eminently logical, was difficult to get too excited over, as his likely ascension now became a matter of procedure. Except, as it turned out, it wasn't.
