WWE's 53 Wrestlers Ranked From Worst To Best
3. John Cena (WWE United States Champion)
Pros:
1. Still very popular with many fans
2. An unbelievable workhorse
3. Sells merchandise like nobody else
Cons:
1. Getting older
2. Often repetitive in terms of promos, matches, and appearance
3. Calls spots so loudly he gets his own segments in Botchamania
On one hand, Cena’s massively popular with a lot of audience members from varying demographic groups, and he has been deemed a ‘freak’ of a workhorse by many of his peers who praise his work ethic and dedication to WWE. Furthermore, there’s no one who makes WWE more money than Cena, as he is still the #1 merchandise seller for WWE.
On the other side, there are some problems with Cena the wrestler. He has been on top for 12 years, and that stress is starting to take its toll on his body. Cena isn’t immortal, as much as Vince wishes he was. Furthermore, the biggest criticism towards Cena is his staleness and resistance to change, due to his position as the superhero to millions of children around the world.
Cena’s doing well right now as the ‘fighting US Champion’, which makes a nice change from his constant positioning in the main event or title picture. How long he stays as a regular on WWE programming will depend on how well he takes care of his body, and how many more times Vince has him lift the Big Show onto his shoulders.
