WWE's Biggest Booking DISASTER Every Year (1986-2026)

10. Goldberg Hammers Kevin Owens (2017)

Kevin Owens should've defended the Universal Title vs. Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 33, It was written in the stars, was the most pulsating storyline Raw had at the time, and both guys deserved that spot for all of the hard work they'd put in.

Don't get it twisted: Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar II turned out to be a rapid fire power move love-in at 'Mania, but...KO and Jericho found themselves relegated to second on the main card and tussling over the lesser United States Title. That was an insult considering they'd carried many episodes of the flagship.

Taking the Universal gold from Owens was one thing, but writing him to lose to Bill in just 22 seconds at Fastlane was a senseless piece of booking. A special attraction like Goldberg didn't need the belt, and his ongoing feud with Lesnar certainly didn't hinge on putting something extra up for grabs.

All WWE did was nullify one of their best stories by telling Kev and Chris openly that 'hey, you're not as important as you think you are to our product'. Then, to cap it all off, Vince McMahon ripped into the pair for their 'Mania match and was surprised by how unmotivated the Canadians were.

Was he drunk?!

Fastlane was crud. Sheer crud. It shouldn't have happened, because Goldberg vs. Brock II could've gone down without a title on the line, and Owens vs. Jericho deserved the bigger spotlight.

Apologies in advance, because there's worse to come from big Bill. You'd be forgiven for thinking Bret Hart was writing this!
