Where Is He Now: Retired

That’s WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long to you.

Long has had a, well, long WWE career. After an 11-year stint in Jim Crocket Promotions and WCW, Teddy came to the WWF in 1998 as a referee. Long went on to become a manager before settling into the role that made him a household name for wrestling fans: SmackDown general manager.

During his run as SmackDown and ECW GM, Long was best known for interjecting in brawls that ended singles matches and restarting them as a tag team match… playa. Teddy was a steady figure on WWE programming until his 2014 release.

Since then, Long has made several cameos on WWE television, and he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017. There’s always a chance the 72-year-old will show up on Raw or SmackDown again, but for now, he’s by all accounts retired.

Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
