Cody Rhodes has decided to clarify recent comments he made about The Rock's necessary/unnecessary involvement in WWE's upcoming WrestleMania 39 weekender.

Previously, Rhodes pretty much said that WWE doesn't need Rocky during 'Mania season because of all the brilliant stories involving the full-time crew that are currently ongoing. Now, in an interview with Sports Illustrated, Cody has decided to "walk that one back", because he isn't sure he showed proper respect to 'The Great One'.

2023 Royal Rumble winner Rhodes said that it'd be wonderful if The Rock could somehow free up time on his busy schedule to attend WrestleMania. However, he still thinks the event will be a smash hit regardless - Cody just isn't certain whether or not prior comments came across as disrespectful to a legend who paved the way or not.

So, he's clarifying and setting the record straight ASAP.

Summing up his feelings, Rhodes said WWE was in a "win-win" situation this April. They've built some hot stories, but could still elevate things further by calling on some huge names from the past, like Rocky.

Cody would be happy to see the icon there.
