WWE's Latest Mystery Is A HUGE Letdown (WWE News)

After all of that hype and all of those fan theories...

WWE WrestleMania 42 Vignette
WWE

With WWE releasing four brief videos to their social media channels in the build to yesterday's Raw, those clips - each showing a different, unseen person walking - had fans speculating that this could be tied to a new faction, a shock return, or a debuting wrestler. Instead, it appears that this is all just part of WWE's promotion of WrestleMania 42.

Via PWInsider Elite, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and Brock Lesnar were amongst the names at WWE headquarters last week to film promo material for next year's Showcase of the Immortals, some of which was used in those aforementioned vignettes.

For those who watched Raw last night, we also saw three additional vignettes: one that appeared to feature Paul Heyman's hands and a WWE Hall of Fame ring, one showing somebody pouring whiskey, and another where a casino chip was thrown onto a table. Of course, WrestleMania 42 takes place at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium, following in the footsteps of 'Mania 41, and so that casino chip is extremely apt for the next Grandaddy of Them All.

As mentioned, prior to Raw, those initial four clips had fan speculation running rampant, with some suggesting the first vignette was hyping the return of Gunther, others thinking another vignette was teasing the main roster call-up of Tony D'Angelo, rumblings that these videos could all be to do with the Vision, and then that fourth clip - seemingly featuring Brock Lesnar - leading some to think the Beast Incarnate might be about to start his own faction.

But no, for all of that hype, all of that speculation, all of those theories, this was instead simply part of the early promotional push for WrestleMania 42.
