WWE's Paul Heyman Shoots On The Rock's WrestleMania 39 Involvement

Paul Heyman knows what people WOULDN'T have wanted to see at WWE's WrestleMania 39.

Paul Heyman believes The Rock could've worked a "very memorable 15-minute match" with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, but doesn't believe that length of bout would've been enough to satisfy fans craving the showdown.

Roman's manager told the SI Media Podcast that Dwayne Johnson is clearly in tremendous physical shape. However, Heyman pointed out that ring conditioning is different from any other kind of cardio, and that The Rock's busy schedule wouldn't allow him to properly train for a wrestling match at short notice.

So, he was never really in the running for a spot vs. Reigns at 'Mania 39 after all. Paul doesn't view that as a negative, because he reckons fans deserve not to be shortchanged with a shorter story/bout between both family members.

It can always happen at a later date if Rocky can commit the necessary time to make it a reality.

Heyman dismissing a 15-minute match shows how tuned-in Roman is to working lengthy epics. The current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion enjoys taking his time in-ring, so he probs wouldn't suit a short sprint designed to protect someone else. Not even Johnson.
