Ronda Rousey decided to clarify her 2020 comments about wrestling being "fake fights for fun" during a recent appearance on Kurt Angle's podcast.

The reigning SmackDown Women's Champion said she was only trying to compare the "anxiety and uncertainty of the result" between MMA fights and pre-determined pro wrestling bouts. She didn't mean to offend anybody, necessarily, but hasn't really changed her mind two years on.

Rousey also said that injuries don't bother her - she's been injured in UFC, and battled through the pain to continue fights. So, if she gets hurt in WWE, then Ronda plans to soldier through as best she can. She'd expect most wrestlers to look at things the same way.

Wrestling fans have taken Rousey to task for calling the biz "fake" several times. Unnamed members of the WWE locker room have also approached Ronda to set the record straight. On that, she added: "You guys, it’s not like the physical toll that makes something real".

Rousey went on to point towards Kurt's gold medal win in 1996, and how he must've felt a different kind of "anxiety" during that compared to his WWE run.
