8 New Directions For WWE Champion Triple H

5. Solving The Jericho Problem

Chris Jericho has proved a rather confusing prospect since returning to regular action a few weeks ago. Y2J has flitted here and there, trading barbs with the New Day one moment, before declaring himself a favourite to win the Royal Rumble the next. He's been presented as a strange, seemingly washed-up babyface - and not a particularly likeable one - but certain theories have been banded about suggesting that this is merely the next stage of Jericho's heel evolution. It would certainly make sense. Y2J's bad-guy personas have often been rather outside the box, particularly in the latter stages of his career. A comprehensive defeat to Triple H could send Jericho off the deep end and into full-on heel territory. The pair have more than enough history to play off of (especially regarding Stephanie) and are good enough on the microphone to mask a lot of in-ring deficiencies.
