2. Nuclear Heat For Gunther

Triple H rightly gets a ton of criticism for a lot of issues going on in WWE these days, but booking Gunther to defeat John Cena in his retirement match is not one of those things.

Gunther absolutely was the right call to defeat Cena Saturday night, and he did so by squeezing the life out of the 17-time world champion (more on the match itself in a bit). He was the right person to do the job, relentlessly attacking and trapping Cena to the point where he had no choice but to do what he (almost) never did: give up.

Fans were all over Gunther from the jump, booing him mercilessly, calling him “a**hole” and saying, “F*** you, Gunther” throughout the match. He carried himself as an arrogant prick who will clearly milk this victory for all its worth. Unlike Miz’s constant referral to beating Cena at WrestleMania 27, Gunther will get plenty of juice out of it.

For the Ring General, this is the biggest feather in his cap, tapping out Cena and retiring his second former world champion this year after ending Goldberg’s career this summer. Let’s see what happens next.
