6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Saturday Night's Main Event (13 December - Results & Review)
4. Sol Recovers, Delivers
If there was a match on the card that had the potential for disaster, it was Bayley versus Sol Ruca, mainly due to Sol’s risk-taking and 19,000 pairs of eyeballs watching it all unfold.
Ruca picked up the biggest win of her career on Saturday when she reversed a rollup and got the pin on Bayley, becoming the only NXT wrestler to beat a main roster superstar on the show.
The match itself was a good showcase for Ruca, as she walked on her hands, flipped out of a hiptoss into an X-Factor, repeatedly dodged Bayley on the apron, and hit a cartwheel DDT. Not everything looked super-crisp, but for someone attempting so many intricate, athletic moves with just a few years of experience, Sol acquitted herself well.
While Ruca is still developing, it’s pretty clear WWE has high hopes for her, and she showed Saturday that she could meet those lofty goals with a bit more time.
