10 Weird (But TRUE) Facts For WWE In 2025
The weird and wacky details WWE probably won't share but you definitely should know.
The final chapter of WWE’s 2025 hasn’t even been written yet, but the debate about what the year means in the greater context of the company’s trend line and future already is raging.
This is not one of those analyses.
While there will be plenty of data to sort through and analyze, this year has also produced a veritable cornucopia of strange, random facts that also help to define WWE’s year. Some lend themselves to the larger debate about whether WWE is in decline, while others are simply bits of information that help summarize and contextualize an eventful 2025.
WWE loves to promote itself against itself, touting new achievements – some of which are records crafted solely for the purpose of breaking them and then bragging – so it’s only fair to dig into the minutiae and pull out some additional randomness for the good of the order.
The result is a picture of a WWE that continues to profit and succeed as a business while making decisions that threaten to further alienate its fanbase. It also is a product that is leaning on shock booking more than the long-term storytelling that defined much of this last boom period.
Let’s dive in and see what the year brought us…

Whenever diving into the deep water of random facts and figures, there always are a bunch of little nuggets that don’t warrant an entire entry, so let’s start there.
For just the second time in memory, a WWE women’s champion had to vacate her title due to pregnancy. Naomi surrendered the Women’s World Championship this summer, just five weeks after cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase to win the title at Evolution. The only other notable time this happened: Becky Lynch in 2020 surrendered the Raw Women’s Championship when she became pregnant. Asuka, who had won the Money in the Bank ladder match, learned afterward that the match was for the title.
WrestleMania is the biggest event on the calendar for WWE each year, with numerous smaller shows and events built around it, making “WrestleMania weekend” itself a major draw for fans. The host city is often announced well in advance. While the venue has been changed before (WrestleMania VII stands out), WWE has not pulled what it did this year before.
In February, The Rock announced on SmackDown that New Orleans would host WrestleMania 42 in 2026. Just three months later, WWE pulled the rug out from under the Big Easy and subsequently announced that Mania would return to Las Vegas, marking just the second time that WrestleMania will emanate from the same venue in consecutive years (WrestleManias IV and V both took place at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City).
