7 Weirdest Times WWE Accidentally Predicted The Future
WWE predicted EVERYTHING in advance, but they didn't even mean to do it.
The Simpsons has become well-known in pop culture for predicting future events in politics, news and entertainment. It's almost a joke at this point. There are countless videos on YouTube of fans pondering whether or not the show's writers/creator Matt Groening had a crystal ball that could see things coming down the line.
Some of it is really spooky. WWE must have the same magic touch.
Or, and this is arguably even more fascinating, they're just winging it and these predictions happened completely by accident. After all, there's surely no way anybody knew what was coming next when these moments hit television. One of them happened a full 22 years before one of WWE's biggest legends admitted that he just can't say no to his boss.
That's what we're dealing with here - times when wrestling's biggest company somehow, often inconceivably took a glimpse into the future and got it spot on. There's even an example from one of WWE's classic video games just to shake things up a bit. Ye olde THQ knew what was set to dominate Raw and SmackDown over the following decade. Either that or WWE's creative team loved them some SmackDown vs. Raw 2007. Being fair, who didn't?!
Stars like John Cena, Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre and The Undertaker all pop up here to look years/decades ahead and get things bizarrely on the money. All of it was weird. Move over, Groening. You've got some serious competition in the pro wrestling world. WWE are at it too!
7. R-Truth’s “Last Time Is Now” T-Shirt
His time is up, his time is now, you can't see him...until you rebel against WWE.
OK, so those retooled and paraphrased lyrics don't sound as snappy as the ones from John Cena's timeless entrance track, but they definitely fit the story of one R-Truth in 2025. He was unceremoniously fired shortly after working a match vs. Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event in May last year. Then, having been canned on 1 June, Truth returned at Money In The Bank less than one full week later.
Triple H fancied kidding on this was all part of the narrative and plan, but there's something else spooky: Truth wore a t-shirt that ominously previewed his own WWE demise heading into the match vs. Cena and at SNME itself. Look closely at the pic above to see it. It says: "“Ron Cena: The Last Time Is Now Farewell Tour”.
Nobody knew it when he rolled into Tampa for the match, but this was going to be Truth's farewell, at least temporarily. Hunter can say whatever he likes, and it's been pretty easy for WWE to rewrite history on Ron Killings, but they were moving on from him before the audience said: 'That'll be right!".
In other words, Truth wearing that shirt for the Cena storyline proved to be rather fitting. If people hadn't shouted loudly about the beloved veteran, then he probably wouldn't have been brought back by management at all. So, that t-shirt would've become a sought after and unintentionally accurate piece of merch bringing the curtain down on Ron.
