Roman Reigns badly needed reinvention in 2020. Like, it was critical. Fans had been rolling their eyes about a potential Universal Title clash vs. Bill Goldberg at 'Mania 36 before COVID concerns ruled the 'Big Dog' out. The fact nobody was actually too bothered when Braun Strowman stepped in for Reigns shows how lacking Roman's babyface run was at the time.

Then, he became immortal as the 'Tribal Chief' following a hot summer return and union with orator extraordinaire Paul Heyman. Here's the thing: Reigns had actually set the scene for that 6 years prior on a show hardly anyone watched. Presumably. Be honest, were you checking out Main Event in 2014?! It was hardly what the world was watching.
